Sr. Mary Immaculata of the Divine Shepherd, PCPA
Entered at age 20 on July 16th, 2005
I was born and raised in a Catholic family. Both of my parents made sure we recieved all of the Sacraments. When I was a teenager I stopped going to Sunday Mass and recieving the Sacraments.
My mother used to remind me that I must take my religion seriously. When I was 16 years old, I began to realize that I was a Christian and God had entrusted me with a mission that I must fulfill. I began once again to practice my Faith.
I would go to our Blessed Mother and ask her to help me to know God's Will in my life. I began to pray the Rosary daily. At this time I was a sophomore in high school.
One day our Parish Priest gave a homily on St. Faustina. As Father was talking I could feel the Lord doing something in my soul. I had no idea what it meant to be a Nun but I felt that Our Lord was asking me to give Him my all by becoming a religious.
At this point, not knowing where to begin my search for a Religious Order, I talked with my Parish Priest. He was very excited and helped me with the discernment process. My parents were also very supportive and allowed me to search for God's Will in my life.
After I gruaduated from high school I visited St. Joseph Monastery in Portsmouth, Ohio. As soon as my visit ended, I felt in my heart that this was where God was calling me.
