The word "Eucharist" actually means "thanksgiving". Everything we have, beginning with our own life, is a pure gift from our generous God. We have gained nothing on our own. Our response to this should be a continual praising and thanking God for all He has done for us in His Goodness.
As PCPAs, we offer our gratitude to Our Lord not only for the blessings we ourselves have recieved, but on behalf of every soul He has created. By our fervent living of the charism of thanksgiving, we strive to make up for the careless indifference of others to the God who has loved us beyond measure. We thank Him even for those things which happen in our lives that are hard to understand--sorrows and trials. In faith, we realize that these too are a gift, that can bring us closer to His Sacred Heart. We offer our lives as an oblation of gratitude, giving ourselves completely to Him Who gave Himself totally for us.
